This file contains a detailed breakdown of emissions and removals from the Land Use, Land-Use Change and Forestry LULUCF) sector underpinning the UK local authority and regional carbon dioxide emissions national statistics: 2005 to 2023. This dataset underpins the maps presented as figures 4 to 22 in the report Mapping carbon emissions and removals for land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF), available at the following link: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/68655526e6c3cc9242289454/lulucf-local-authority-report-2023.pdf

The NAEI spatial methodology report is now re-issued. In the previous version of the report, several graphs in Section 2 were incorrectly displaying the percentage breakdown of source sectors as the cumulative share across all years (i.e. 2005-2023), rather than for the latest NAEI inventory year (i.e. 2023 only). This revised report corrects these graphs to reflect the intended 2023 data. This issue was also present in previous methodology reports for NAEI 2021 and NAEI 2022 and these reports have not been amended. All accompanying text and gridded data remain valid and unaffected, and there is no impact on users who have relied on the spatial emissions datasets.
